How the site was made accessible

We want everyone to be able to browse this site and contact us. The site was built to meet the Israeli standard IS 5568 and WCAG 2.1 level AA. We did not add an accessibility overlay widget: accessibility is built into the code of the site itself.

What we did:

  • A "Skip to content" link is the first element on every page.
  • The whole site can be used with the keyboard alone, with a clear marker on the active element.
  • Pages have an ordered heading structure and defined page regions, so screen readers can jump between sections.
  • Images have text descriptions.
  • Text and background colors meet the required contrast ratio.
  • The language and reading direction of each page are set correctly in Hebrew and English, and phone numbers and email addresses always read left to right.
  • Every form field has a visible label, and errors appear at the top of the form with a link to each field that needs fixing.
  • A background video, where there is one, can be paused with a button. It does not play when the device asks for reduced motion.

How to use the site

  • Keyboard: Tab moves to the next element, Shift+Tab to the previous one, Enter activates a link or a button, and Escape closes a menu or a window.
  • Zoom: You can enlarge the text in your browser, and the pages rearrange themselves on narrow screens.
  • Pausing video: The pause button appears on the video, when a page has one.

Known limitations and alternatives

  • Photos in the stories and the gallery are added by us. We write a description for each one before it is published, and if we missed a photo, please tell us.
  • Links to outside services, such as WhatsApp and Facebook, open sites we do not control. Their accessibility is the responsibility of their operators.
  • Everything you can do on the site you can also do by phone call or WhatsApp message.
